Read more about Clustered Beaksedge at Vascular Plants of North Carolina.
A rather common beaksedge that should be learned by field botanists as a comparison point for other species. It is a coarser plant than R. capitellata, its spikelet clusters larger and tending to arch outward and often causing the stem to lean. Read more in Weakley's Flora (2025).

If a search such as "Carex leptalea var. leptalea" doesn't deliver the results you want, try "Carex leptalea".
Or, to minimize chances of a misspelling, try just "Carex le".
Less is more: If "pencil flower" doesn't deliver the results you want, try "pencil".
